PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Arlington Public Library, Arlington, VA
Programs and Partnerships Librarian January 2020 - Present

  • Manage and deliver programs for County government, systemwide Library branches, and partner organizations
  • Coordinate the County bookmobile program and related outreach efforts
  • Serve as programs liaison to the children’s and teen librarians
  • Work with programming staff and County partners to create systemwide initiatives and partnerships
  • Collect, collate, and organize statistics for presentations and reports
  • Work with the Library communications team on messaging, marketing language, and collateral design

Smithsonian Libraries, Washington, DC
Education Specialist May 2018- December 2019

  • Assisted the Head of Education in managing administrative logistics for Education Department
  • Designed and implemented the Smithsonian Libraries' various youth programs, serving P-12 audiences
  • Wrote and managed grants to build and sustain Libraries' programs
  • Developed marketing materials, maintained website, and carried out graphic design as needed
  • Worked with Institution-wide and community partners to build partnerships and organize initiatives

  • Designed 200+ memes highlighting critical theory of writer bell hooks
  • Am one of the subjects of PhD research on “intersectional feminist consciousness-raising practices”
  • Am the subject of five interviews and 22 articles about the project
